Online Colleges and Universities » Blog Archive » What Exactly Are The Benefits of Homeschooling?

After reading this article, I knew I had to post it in this blog.  It is true that there is a lot for children to know these days.  Technologies are changing faster then I can finish this sentence.  So I decided to write this posting on the views of what schools are teaching and what parents are teaching.

As you may realize, I cannot really state what parents are teaching their children, or what all school system are doing as well.  The issue here regarding the importance of parents teaching their children about the human body is the key here that I think this article is saying.  Parents needs to be more involved with their children's lives.  That is the wonders of home schooling.

"The most successful home schooling parents don’t just lecture their children, hand out assignments, and watch their children complete them; they play an active role. Parents can actively participate in a child’s education by encouraging them to research and explore."  To be a successful parent is has nothing to do with a college degree or stuff like that.  Being a successful parent is the willingness to love your children to the fullest.

When it comes to learning and keeping up with technology, schools are having a hard time keeping up, so it is up to all of us to do things for ourselves.  I think that is what children can learn from their parents, how to be responsible for oneself.  There is so much that can be taught in a classroom.  I graduated from high school in 1986.  I know there is a lot of changes in how school systems teach.  The question is how long is one class?  If I understand it right, 2 hours.

Two hours is more then 1 hour, 90% of the learning is outside the classroom.  There are more homework then I had when I was going to school.  This issue with that is what are children learning from all that work?  From this article, parents can do a better job teaching their children.  It is true that a lot of parents cannot do this for number of reasons.  What I suggest then is to add the best you can do for your children to what the school systems are doing.  No matter what, children needs parental guidance, and the school systems, churches, or any other organization cannot replace parents.

The old saying, "Everything starts in the home" is very true.  No parent is perfect. No one can be that.  What any parent can do is love their children to the fullest.  That way what you can do for their children will be the best for them.  Why can only parents do this kind of a job?  The answer is simple.  School have too many children to deal with them on an intimate basis.  Children needs this intimacy.  When they get this type of lifestyle on a day-to-day basis, then they be able to live out their lives to the fullest when they become adults.

We all need to connect with one another.  That is how teamwork are formed.  Without the knowledge and understanding of bonding as children in the home, how can they truly understand teamwork when they become adults?  They cannot.  All that parents can do for their children in the here and now will make a giant difference in time to come.  "All you need is love."  With the love that parents can give to their children, only great results can be produced.
